Tasting notes

Bright golden yellow. Apricot, white peach, honeysuckle, violet and a touch of spice on the nose. The palate is rich and juicy yet refined, with a silky texture, gentle freshness and a long, mineral finish.

About this wine

Château-Grillet is one of the most unusual estates of the northern Rhône, with vineyards on granite terraces above the river. La Carterie joined the estate's range in 2017 and comes from 12 terraces covering 0.25 hectares, next to those of the château at the top of the slope, on the same granite soil.

It is 100% Viognier, vinified with the same precision as the estate's grand vin and aged slowly and patiently on its fine lees.

Expressive, rich and charming, with elegance and balance hand in hand, it is delicious young but also has real ageing potential.
