Tasting notes

Deep purple colour. Aromas of ripe dark fruit with cedar notes and a touch of spice. The palate is powerful and balanced, juicy and concentrated, with firm, polished tannins and a long finish that promises more than twenty years of ageing.

About this wine

Château La Lagune is a Third Growth of the 1855 classification in Ludon-Médoc. The estate was founded in 1587 and its chartreuse dates from 1730. Since 2000 it has been run by Caroline Frey, and in 2021 it received Biodyvin biodynamic certification.

The 2015 blends 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot and 5% Petit Verdot, aged in French oak barrels, half of which are renewed every year. Powerful and balanced, with ageing potential beyond 20 years, it comes here in a 3-litre double magnum, an impressive format for big occasions.
