Tasting notes

Pale lemon with a green tint. Grapefruit, lime leaf and white peach on the nose, with boxwood, a hint of beeswax and a chalky undertone. The palate is fresh and taut, its citrus fruit given a little weight by the Sémillon and a creamy lees texture. The finish is dry and clean, leaving grapefruit pith and crushed stone.

About this wine

Le Blanc Bonhomme is the white wine of Château Peybonhomme-Les Tours, made from Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon on the estate's limestone slopes in Blaye. The Hubert family has farmed the whole property biodynamically for years, using herbal preparations and ploughing in place of chemical treatments.

The grapes are pressed whole and fermented cool with indigenous yeasts, mostly in tank with a small share in older barrels, then kept on their fine lees until bottling. Sulphur use is kept to a minimum throughout.

A crisp, aromatic white Bordeaux that drinks well above its modest price.
