Tasting notes

Deep purple-ruby. Fragrant aromas of cassis, blueberry, violet, rose petal, cedar and graphite. The palate is medium to full-bodied, pure and finely structured, with chalky, ripe tannins, bright acidity and a long, elegant finish of dark fruit and spice.

About this wine

Château Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande is a Second Growth of Pauillac on the border with Saint-Julien. Its vineyards, some facing Château Latour, combine gravel over clay, and a notable share of Merlot gives the wine its famous silkiness and perfume.

2016 produced classic, beautifully balanced wines in Pauillac. The Comtesse 2016, a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot aged in French oak, is precise and aromatic, pairing pure cassis and floral notes with fine, chalky tannins and a long, lifted finish.
