Tasting notes

Bright, intense ruby red. The nose opens with floral notes of violet and wild rose, followed by elegant red fruit. The palate is savoury and spicy, with an impressive tannic structure, vibrant freshness and a long, persistent finish.

About this wine

Tenuta Perano lies in Gaiole in Chianti, in the heart of the Chianti Classico zone, where the vineyards sit at around 500 metres in a natural amphitheatre facing south-west. The altitude and the exposure give Sangiovese of great aromatic finesse and firm structure.

For this Riserva, Frescobaldi blend Sangiovese with a share of Merlot and age the wine for 24 months in oak casks, followed by further refinement in bottle, building the structure and ageing potential expected of a Chianti Classico Riserva. The 2021 vintage has 14% alcohol.
