Tasting notes

Pale lemon with green glints. Green apple, lemon and grapefruit on the nose, with white flowers and a clear chalky, oyster-shell note. The palate is lean and bright, its citrus fruit stretched over cool acidity with no trace of oak. The aftertaste is crisp and saline, leaving lime and wet stone.

About this wine

Christian Moreau Père & Fils is based in the town of Chablis and owns a remarkable holding of Grand Cru land, including a parcel of Les Clos. The family's wines have been bottled under this name since 2002, when Christian and his son Fabien took back vineyards that had been leased out.

The village Chablis comes from vines on Kimmeridgian limestone around the town, fermented and aged entirely in stainless steel so that nothing stands between the drinker and the soil. Malolactic fermentation is completed, which rounds the wine without softening its edge.

A clean, classic Chablis that shows the appellation's chalk and citrus.
