Tasting notes

Pale gold with green glints. The nose opens on yellow stone fruit, white flowers and a hint of citrus zest, with subtle toasted oak in the background. The palate is medium-bodied and juicy, balancing ripe fruit with lively acidity and a light mineral thread, closing on a refreshing, citrus-tinged finish.

About this wine

Domaine de Montille is one of Burgundy's most respected family estates, rooted in Volnay and today farming organically across the Côte de Beaune, from Pommard and Corton to Puligny-Montrachet and Meursault.

This Chassagne-Montrachet from the 2021 vintage is made entirely from Chardonnay grown in the village vineyards at the southern end of the Côte de Beaune. The wine spends one year in barrels, mostly of Allier oak, and is then blended and rested for a further five months in stainless steel before bottling.

The result is a precise, fresh village white that shows the generous fruit of Chassagne framed by the estate's focus on purity and tension, a fine introduction to the Montille style of white Burgundy.
