Tasting notes

Deep ruby. Aromas of dark plum and black cherry mingle with smoke, sweet spice and a floral lift. The palate is full and concentrated, with firm, ripe tannins giving structure and grip, while lively acidity keeps it fresh. The finish is long and savoury, with lingering spice and red fruit.

About this wine

Domaine de Montille is a historic family estate of the Côte de Beaune, known for its organically farmed vineyards and for red Burgundies of great finesse and longevity.

Les Rugiens is the most celebrated Premier Cru of Pommard, a steep slope of iron-rich, reddish soils that gives the village's most powerful and structured Pinot Noir. The 2020 vintage is made from 100% Pinot Noir from organically farmed vines and matured in oak barrels, 40% of them new.

It is a wine of depth and firm, ripe tannins that combines the muscle typical of Pommard with the elegance and freshness that define the estate, built to evolve beautifully in the cellar for many years.
