Tasting notes

Luminous gold. Citrus fruit, ripe pear and a delicate honeyed note rise from the glass, with hints of toasted almond and wet stone. The palate is concentrated yet poised, with fine acidity balancing the richness and a chalky, mineral core. The finish is long and elegant, echoing citrus and light honey.

About this wine

Domaine de Montille is a leading family estate of the Côte de Beaune, farming its vineyards organically and biodynamically and crafting whites and reds of remarkable precision.

Le Cailleret is one of the finest Premier Cru sites of Puligny-Montrachet, lying right next to the Grand Cru Le Montrachet on stony, well-drained limestone soils. The 2020 is 100% Chardonnay, fermented in oak barrels, 25% of them new, and aged for one year before bottling.

Balanced and long, it shows the depth and tension expected from this exceptional climat and was rated 18/20 by Jancis Robinson, a white Burgundy that rewards patient cellaring.
