Tasting notes

Bright gold with green reflections. The nose is intense, with citrus peel, white peach, oyster shell and a hint of fresh herbs. The palate is powerful and concentrated, yet lifted by vibrant acidity and a saline, chalky backbone. The finish is very long, fresh and mineral.

About this wine

Domaine des Malandes is a family-run estate in Chablis, farming some 29 hectares of vines aged between 15 and 60 years across the appellation's finest slopes.

Les Clos is the largest and most renowned of the seven Chablis Grand Cru climats, a south-west-facing slope of Kimmeridgian limestone rising above the town of Chablis. The 2020 is 100% Chardonnay, aged for 12 to 14 months in stainless steel tanks, without oak, to preserve the purity and energy of the site.

Powerful yet elegant and fresh, it earned 95 points from Robert Parker and will gain further complexity with years in bottle.
