Tasting notes

Pale gold with green glints. Aromas of white peach, pink grapefruit and acacia blossom are lifted by crushed stone and a faint herbal note of boxwood. The palate is light-footed and precise, with juicy citrus fruit, fine chalky texture and a bright line of acidity leading to a clean, lingering, salt-tinged finish.

About this wine

Le Paradis takes its name from a south-facing parcel just below the village of Sancerre, planted on caillottes, the shallow soils of broken limestone pebbles that warm quickly and drain fast. It is the most immediately charming of Domaine Vacheron's single-vineyard whites.

The estate has been certified biodynamic since the mid-2000s and the Vacheron cousins work the vines with great restraint. Fermentation is spontaneous and ageing takes place on fine lees in neutral containers, so nothing stands between the drinker and the site.

Elegant, fragrant and sharply mineral, it is ready to enjoy young.
