Tasting notes

Pale straw yellow with green glints. The nose is delicate and fresh, with citrus, green apple, white flowers and a smoky, flinty volcanic note. On the palate it is light and graceful, with lively acidity, a saline mineral streak and a clean, easy finish that invites the next sip.

About this wine

Tenuta delle Terre Nere is the estate of Marco de Grazia in Contrada Calderara, Randazzo, on the northern slope of Mount Etna, and one of the names that put the volcano's wines on the world map. This Etna Bianco gathers grapes from the estate's vineyards on the northern, southern and eastern slopes, between 600 and 950 metres above sea level.

The blend is led by Carricante (70%) with Catarratto, Grecanico and Inzolia. It ferments in stainless steel at 13–15 °C and sees no oak at all, so the volcanic freshness of the fruit stays intact.

Light, graceful and immediately drinkable at 12.5% alcohol, it is the classic face of the estate's whites and keeps its freshness while gaining depth with a few years in bottle.
