Tasting notes

Deep ruby-purple. Aromas of ripe plum, black cherry and blackberry with hints of cocoa and sweet spice. The palate is soft and rounded, with velvety tannins, generous fruit and a fresh, lingering finish.

About this wine

Château Nénin in Pomerol belongs to the Delon family, also owners of Léoville Las Cases, and has up to 32 hectares of vines in production, a rarity in an appellation where few estates exceed 10 hectares.

Fugue de Nénin was created with the 1997 vintage. It comes from the clay-sand soils in the eastern part of the vineyard and from young vines on the Pomerol plateau, and is a blend of 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc, with around 10% of the wine aged in amphorae.

The estate describes it as a soft, approachable Pomerol with rounded fruit supported by fresh acidity, and the 2020 vintage is a delicious example.
