Tasting notes

Bright garnet. Red cherry, raspberry, violet, rose and sweet spice on the nose. The palate is medium-bodied and polished, with fine but present tannins, fresh acidity and a clean, savoury finish.

About this wine

In 2015 Roberto Conterno, the third generation at the helm of the legendary Giacomo Conterno, acquired the Arione vineyard, next to the famous Francia in Serralunga d'Alba. Part of Arione lies in the commune of Roddino, outside the Barolo appellation, and its grapes make this Nebbiolo d'Alba.

The vineyard faces fully south, on soils similar to those of Francia, and the wine is made by the same hands that craft the estate's celebrated Barolo.

Vigna Arione is a rare chance to taste the Nebbiolo of Conterno outside the Barolo name: fragrant, structured and true to its Serralunga roots.
