Tasting notes

Pale straw yellow with greenish reflections. The nose offers peach, apple and grapefruit with hints of aniseed and white flowers. The palate is dry, fresh and graceful, with lively acidity and a lingering aftertaste.

About this wine

Il Doge is the fresh face of Gavi in the range of the Broglia family, owners of the La Meirana estate in Piedmont. Produced since 2005, it comes from clay-soil vineyards on south-west-facing slopes at 200-250 metres.

It is conceived as a fresh, direct and elegant expression of Cortese: the wine spends three months in stainless steel and one month in bottle before release.

Crisp and refined, it is an ideal everyday Gavi for Mediterranean cooking.
