Tasting notes

Bright ruby red. The nose offers blackberry and other dark berries with a herbal touch and balsamic hints. The palate is fresh, elegant and silky, with fine tannins, vibrant acidity and a long, savoury finish.

About this wine

Jean Foillard is one of the reference names of natural winemaking in Beaujolais, devoted to Gamay and to the expression of terroir. The estate produces small quantities from old vineyards, some of them more than a century old, and its Morgon wines are known for ageing gracefully in bottle.

3.14 is a 100% Gamay cuvée. The grapes are harvested by hand and kept with their stems for a cold carbonic maceration at 4-7 °C, followed by an alcoholic fermentation with native yeasts lasting three to four weeks.
