Tasting notes

Bright ruby. Fragrant aromas of wild strawberry, cherry, rose petals and white pepper. The palate is elegant and fine-grained, with lively acidity, silky tannins and a delicate, floral finish. Serve slightly below room temperature in a large glass, letting it breathe briefly to reveal its full aromatic range.

About this wine

Jean and Agnès Foillard took over the family estate in Villié-Morgon in 1980 and are now among the most respected names in Beaujolais. Together with Marcel Lapierre, Jean-Paul Thévenet and Guy Breton they formed the so-called "Gang of Four", inspired by Jules Chauvet's ideas on natural wine.

The vineyards are farmed organically, fermentation uses whole bunches through carbonic maceration, and sulphur is added sparingly, only before bottling. "Corcelette" comes from the vineyard of the same name in Morgon, on granite and very sandy soils, and ages for 9 months in used barrels.
