Tasting notes

Straw yellow with golden highlights. Delicate white flowers, balsamic notes and apricot when young; with age, more pronounced mineral notes of iodine, spice and candied fruit. Strongly savoury on the palate, with a lively, exuberant acidity.

About this wine

A 1.5-litre Magnum in a gift box of I Frati, Cà dei Frati's Lugana DOC made from Turbiana, the native grape of the southern shore of Lake Garda. Fresh, linear and elegant when young, it is meant to be enjoyed as a vintage wine, yet it shows its best many years after bottling.

With time the mineral side grows, with notes of iodine, spice and candied fruit. A historic Lugana, and one of the wines that helped change the perception of the appellation. This listing is the 2022 vintage.
