Istar Riesling comes from Bononia Estate, a winery near Vidin in the far north-west of Bulgaria, the country's most northerly wine-growing area on the Danube. The cool, continental conditions here suit Riesling, a grape that rewards patience and precision.

The wine shows aromas of apple, honey, acacia and yellow fruit. The aftertaste is long and persistent, and its mineral notes are the foundation for guaranteed good development over time – this is a Riesling that will gain complexity with a few years in bottle.
