Tasting notes

Ruby red with bright highlights. Aromas of cherry and small red berries, tobacco, liquorice and black pepper. The palate is velvety and balanced, with ripe, elegant tannins, good freshness and a lively, spicy finish.

About this wine

Rivarossa is the oldest red wine in the Schiopetto range, first made in 1968. It takes its name from the cadastral plot on the family's Friuli estate, where the soil is a mix of sand and clay.

Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon are fermented separately, with maceration tailored to the ripeness of each variety, followed by malolactic fermentation and 14 months in oak casks. The result is a velvety, balanced red with ripe, elegant tannins. The three-litre Jeroboam is the perfect format for grand celebrations.
