Tasting notes

Pale straw with green hints. The nose shows citrus, gooseberry, white peach, cut grass and a flinty, mineral note. The palate is crisp and vibrant, with juicy citrus fruit, lively acidity and a clean, saline finish.

About this wine

Comte Lafond is the Sancerre of de Ladoucette, the historic Loire house of Baron Patrick de Ladoucette, best known for its Pouilly-Fumé from Château du Nozet. The name honours Comte Lafond, an ancestor of the family, and the grapes come from selected vineyards on the limestone and flint slopes of Sancerre.

Made entirely from Sauvignon Blanc and vinified to preserve purity of fruit, the 2024 is crisp, mineral and precise, a textbook expression of the eastern Loire.

A classic white for seafood and goat's cheese.
