Tasting notes

Pale straw yellow. The nose is fine and delicate, with yellow flowers, apple and citrus peel. On the palate it is crisp and vibrant, driven by bright acidity and a salty mineral streak that carries through to a clean, refreshing finish.

About this wine

Caterina comes from Sant'Helena, Fantinel's selection from the Collio hills close to the Slovenian border. The Fantinel family has made wine in Friuli since 1969, when it bought its first vineyards in Collio; today the winery is based in Tauriano di Spilimbergo and farms more than 300 hectares.

Ribolla Gialla is a native Friulian grape, and here it gives a lively, mineral white. Fermentation and ageing take place in stainless steel with no oak, keeping the focus on freshness and on the character of the hillside vineyards.
