Tasting notes

Ruby with garnet hints. Red and black fruit, plum and a touch of sweet spice on the nose. The palate is fruity and supple, with soft, rounded tannins and a pleasant, easy-drinking finish.

About this wine

Château d'Aiguilhe is a 13th-century castle that served as a fortified farm on the frontier between French and English territory during the Hundred Years' War. The estate covers 140 hectares, 90 of them vineyards on the clay-limestone plateau of Castillon, just east of Saint-Émilion.

Since the end of 1998 it has belonged to Count Stephan von Neipperg, owner of Canon-la-Gaffelière and La Mondotte, who has made it a reference for the appellation.

Seigneurs d'Aiguilhe is the château's second wine, described by the estate as fruity, pleasant and easy to drink: an everyday red with the character of Bordeaux's Right Bank.
