Tasting notes

Deep purple-red. The nose shows ripe fruit, sour cherry and cherry. The palate is full and complex, with notes of dried fig and vanilla spice from the oak, leading to a soft, velvety finish. It opens up nicely with a little air and is best served in a generous glass, where its fruit and structure can fully unfold.

About this wine

"Sol" is the flagship wine of Cantina Museo Albea in Alberobello. It is made from hand-picked Primitivo grown in the Gioia del Colle area, one of the historic homes of the variety.

Part of the grapes is dried in a refrigerated room before a maceration of fifteen to eighteen days. The wine then ages for fifteen months in Nevers and Tronçais oak barriques, followed by five months in bottle.

The result is a rich, complex Primitivo with dried-fruit depth and a velvety texture, the most ambitious expression of the estate.
