Tasting notes

Ruby red with garnet hints. Aromas of red and dark fruit with sweet spice, vanilla and a touch of oak. The palate is intense and smooth, with velvety tannins, ripe fruit and a long, spicy finish.

About this wine

Castillo Catadau Crianza 2023 is a Tempranillo from Valencia, on Spain's Mediterranean coast, produced by Anecoop and bottled by the La Viña cooperative in Fuente la Higuera.

As a Crianza it has spent two years maturing in the cellar, including time in barrique barrels, before release. The nose shows red and dark fruit with spicy notes, and the palate is intense, with velvety tannins and a long finish. It is dry, with 13.5% alcohol, and has won gold at both the Berlin Wine Trophy and Mundus Vini.

Serve at 16–18 °C with hearty meat dishes.
