Tasting notes
Straw yellow with greenish reflections. The nose is fine, intense and delicate, with white flowers, citrus and a hint of Mediterranean herbs. The palate is fresh and dry, marked by a pleasant salinity and a gentle, lingering finish.
About this wine
Costamolino is the classic Vermentino of the Argiolas family, made in the hills around Serdiana in southern Sardinia. It is the wine that introduced many drinkers to the island's signature white grape and remains the estate's most popular label.
Only the free-run must from a very gentle first pressing is used. Fermentation is slow, around 20 days at 16-18 °C, to protect the purity and freshness of the variety; the wine then rests briefly on its fine lees before a short period in bottle.
Pale straw with green glints, it is fine and fragrant on the nose, dry and refreshing on the palate, with the saline streak that marks the best Sardinian Vermentino.
