Tasting notes

Pale copper-pink, bright in the glass. The nose is delicate: wild strawberry, white peach and a floral note, with none of the confected sweetness blush wines can carry. The palate is dry and light, acidity fresh and clean, and the finish is short, saline and immediately refreshing.

About this wine

Pinot Grigio is a curiosity among white grapes: its skins are not green but a dusty copper-pink, which means the variety can be made as a white, as the faintly coppery ramato style, or — with a short time on the skins — as a proper rosé.

"Blush" is Poesie's rosé reading of the grape within the Delle Venezie denomination, which covers Pinot Grigio across the Veneto, Friuli-Venezia Giulia and Trento. A brief maceration draws the colour, after which fermentation continues cool and in stainless steel to keep the wine crisp.

It stays in the pale, dry register rather than the sweeter blush styles the name sometimes implies.
