Tasting notes

Deep ruby red. The nose shows vanilla, cinnamon, dark chocolate, ripe cherry and blackcurrant compote with a hint of liquorice. The palate is warm and soft, with smooth, fine tannins and good length. A generous southern red.

About this wine

Produttori di Manduria is a cooperative in Manduria, Puglia, officially founded in 1932. It brings together around 400 growers, known as the "masters of Primitivo", with nearly 900 hectares of vineyards, most of them trained as traditional alberello bush vines.

Abatemasi is a red made from 90% Negroamaro with 10% Primitivo. The grapes are hand-picked in mid-September and fermented below 25 °C, and the wine is aged for 12 months before release.

Warm and soft, it is a generous expression of the Salento peninsula and its sun-drenched vineyards.
