Tasting notes

Red with violet hints. Ripe fruit aromas combined with floral and spicy notes. Complex and balanced on the palate, with ripe tannins, great depth and a long finish. Decant two hours before serving.

About this wine

Teso la Monja was founded in 2007 by Marcos and Miguel Ángel Eguren, fourth-generation winemakers, in the northernmost part of DO Toro, on sandy soils rich in rounded stones that give exceptionally silky wines.

Alabaster is 100% Tinta de Toro from pre-phylloxera vines over 100 years old, at more than 800 metres. Grapes are destemmed berry by berry, whole berries ferment in 1,000-litre French oak barrels and the wine ages 18 months in new French oak.

A collector's wine with great ageing potential. Decant two hours before serving at 16–18 °C.
