Tasting notes

Ruby red colour with an intense, complex nose. The palate shows cherry, plum, bitter cocoa and liquorice. Broad and enveloping, with firm tannins, a savoury streak and lively freshness that keep it balanced. A long, warm finish confirms its great ageing potential.

About this wine

Graziano Prà is a grower from Monteforte d'Alpone in Veneto who makes wine in two zones, Soave and Valpolicella. His Amarone comes from hillside vineyards in Mezzane and Tregnago, planted in 2001 at 450 metres on limestone soils.

The best bunches of Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella and Oseleta are dried in crates for two months, then fermented in steel using the délestage method. The wine ages two years in tonneaux and Allier oak barrels, a further year in large 20-hectolitre casks and a year in bottle.

The 2015 vintage in a three-litre Jeroboam is a rare, impressive bottle for great occasions and long cellaring.
