Tasting notes

Garnet red with orange reflections. Aromas of rose, red cherry, dried plum, tar and sweet spice. The palate is rich and structured, with firm yet refined tannins, lively acidity and a long, lingering finish of fruit, liquorice and spice.

About this wine

Cantine San Silvestro is a family winery in Novello, in the heart of the Barolo area, with more than 150 years of history and a traditional, long-lived style of Nebbiolo. It is run today by Paolo and Guido Sartirano, the fourth generation of the family.

The Barolo Riserva 2020 is made from 100% Nebbiolo in a vintage rated excellent by experts. As a Riserva, it has undergone the extended ageing required by the Barolo DOCG rules before release. Rich and long-lasting, with 14.5% alcohol, it received 92 points from James Suckling.

Serve at 16–18 °C with dark meats, braised dishes and aged cheeses.
