Tasting notes

Bright golden yellow. Sunny aromas of yellow fruit, Mediterranean herbs and sea salt. The palate is very savoury and mineral, with a firm, pleasant structure typical of the variety and a long finish. Textured and deep, it gains complexity with a little time in the glass.

About this wine

The Mazzei family has been making wine in Tuscany since 1435. Their Belguardo estate lies in the Maremma near Grosseto, close to the Tyrrhenian Sea, whose breezes keep the vineyards fresh.

Belguardo V is the result of years of research in vineyard and cellar, and shows the most intense side of Vermentino from the Tyrrhenian coast. The grapes come from sandy soils at 30 to 50 metres.

Part of the wine ages on the skins in amphorae and stainless steel, the rest on its fine lees, giving a white of texture and depth that does not need to be served too cold.
