Tasting notes

Ruby colour. The nose shows ripe red and dark fruit with a gentle touch of sweet spice from the oak. The palate is juicy and rounded, with delicate, harmonious tannins and the classic elegance of Margaux. Smooth, pleasantly persistent finish.

About this wine

Blason d'Issan is the second wine of Château d'Issan, a Third Growth in the 1855 Bordeaux classification, located in the Margaux appellation. First made in 1995, it comes from the estate's youngest vines and expresses the character of the terroir in a more approachable style that drinks well early.

The 2020 blends 57% Merlot, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon and 3% Petit Verdot, aged 14 to 16 months in oak barrels, one third of them new. It shows the classic elegance of Margaux, with juicy fruit and harmonious tannins, and is already a pleasure to drink.
