Tasting notes

Deep, bright ruby red. A fruity, lightly balsamic nose of ripe berries, sweet spice and wild herbs. Soft, round, fresh and juicy, with pleasantly lively tannins.

Borgeri is the Bolgheri Rosso of Giorgio Meletti Cavallari, a family winery in Bolgheri. It blends Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah (40%, 40% and 20% in recent vintages).

After a cold pre-fermentation maceration of 36 to 48 hours, the wine ferments in steel and ages about six months in second-use barriques, then at least eight months in bottle. This listing is the 2018 vintage.
