Tasting notes

Intense ruby red with purple highlights. A generous, open nose of ripe red fruit. Soft, round and enveloping on the palate, with a fine balance of structure, fullness and elegance.

About this wine

Le Serre Nuove dell'Ornellaia is the second wine of Tenuta dell'Ornellaia in Bolgheri. The 2020 blends 44% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13% Cabernet Franc and 13% Petit Verdot.

The grapes were hand-picked into small crates and sorted twice, and each variety and parcel was vinified separately in steel and concrete. The wine aged about 15 months in barriques (25% new), was blended after 12 months and spent six months in bottle before release. This listing is the 2020 vintage.
