Tasting notes

Deep ruby red. The nose gathers raspberry, blueberry, wild strawberry and cherry, with cinnamon, eucalyptus, cocoa and a cool mint note behind. The palate is soft and juicy, the fruit rich but lifted by fresh acidity, and the tannins are fine and well integrated through a long close.

About this wine

Camelot is one of Firriato's leading reds, a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot from the Baglio Sorìa estate outside Trapani, in western Sicily. The vineyard sits on a hill facing south-east, on limestone-clay soil veined with red marl.

The grapes are picked by hand and the two varieties are vinified separately before blending. Twelve months in French oak barriques give the wine depth and a polished frame, the Mediterranean fruit held in place rather than covered over.
