Tasting notes

Pale straw with the faintest copper tint. The nose is restrained and clean, offering pear, white peach and a light almond note. The palate is dry and light-bodied, with crisp acidity and a gentle creaminess in the middle. The finish is short, clean and slightly bitter in the way of good Pinot Grigio.

About this wine

Cantina Zaccagnini has been making wine at Bolognano, in the Abruzzese hills, since 1978. The hand-tied vine shoot fixed to every bottle gave the estate's Tralcetto range its name and remains its signature.

Terre di Chieti covers the province of Chieti, in the southern part of the region, where Pinot Grigio has adapted well to the warm days and cool nights. The grapes are harvested early to hold on to acidity, then pressed softly and fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel with no wood, which keeps the wine pale and direct.

It is bottled young and meant to be drunk the same way.
