Tasting notes

Deep ruby-garnet. Aromas of raspberry, cherry, cassis and blackberry, layered with forest floor, truffle, incense, cedar, violet and leather. Silky and dense on the palate, with a very long finish. Decant three to four hours before serving.

About this wine

Château Gazin is a 26-hectare estate in Pomerol, set on a clay-gravel plateau with blue clay and iron-rich subsoil, right next to Petrus. The land was once farmed by the Knights Templar, and since 1917 the estate has belonged to the de Bailliencourt dit Courcol family.

The 2015 blends 95% Merlot with 5% Cabernet Franc and is aged 18 months in oak barrels, half of them new. It is a silky, dense and very long Pomerol; the estate recommends decanting it three to four hours before serving.
