Tasting notes

Garnet with an amber rim. The nose shows blackcurrant, dried plum, cedar, tobacco, leather and forest floor. The palate is medium-bodied and harmonious, with softened tannins, fresh acidity and a lingering, savoury finish of dried fruit and spice.

About this wine

Château Potensac is a leading estate of the northern Médoc, owned by the Delon family of Château Léoville Las Cases. Its gravel and clay-limestone vineyards near the village of Ordonnac produce classic, long-lived Médoc wines of excellent value.

The 2004 blends 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Franc, aged in oak barrels. The magnum format slows the wine's evolution, so this twenty-year-old bottle keeps its freshness alongside a mature, savoury character of cedar, tobacco and dried fruit.

Perfect for a table of friends and a slow-cooked roast.
