Tasting notes

Deep ruby. The nose combines blackcurrant, black cherry and Mediterranean herbs with notes of spice and toasted oak. The palate is full and structured, with ripe, firm tannins, dark fruit and a long, savoury finish.

About this wine

Château Roubine, a Côtes de Provence Cru Classé since 1955, is an organically farmed estate with more than 700 years of history. Lion & Dragon is its prestige range, sourced from the oldest plots of the property.

The 2021 red blends equal thirds of Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Mourvèdre. Each variety is harvested separately, fermented with natural yeasts and aged for 18 months in oak barrels.

A deep, structured Provence red that proves the region is not only about rosé, with the concentration to age gracefully for several years; Jancis Robinson scored it 17.5/20.
