Tasting notes

Deep colour and a complex, intense nose of dark cherry, red berries and earthy, spicy notes. The palate is dense and powerful, with concentrated yet fine, silky tannins and a long, classy finish built for extended ageing.

About this wine

Domaine Hubert Lignier is a family estate in Morey-Saint-Denis, founded in 1885 and now in its sixth generation. The vines have been farmed organically since 2006, with AB certification since 2019; grapes are hand-picked and the wines are bottled without fining or filtration.

This Grand Cru comes from two parcels, Mont Luisants and Fremières, with old vines planted in the 1950s and 1960s on thin limestone soils. Aged around 20 months in oak, 20 to 30% new, it is dense and powerful, with concentrated yet fine, silky tannins and great potential for long ageing.
