Tasting notes

Vivid violet-tinged ruby. The nose is elegant and fruity, with blackberry, plum and violet. The palate is soft and juicy, with gentle tannins, moderate acidity and the light bitter-almond twist on the finish that is the signature of Dolcetto from this area. Best within its first few years.

About this wine

Brezza's Dolcetto comes from a south-west facing vineyard in the commune of Barolo with sandy clay soils. The family, winemakers here since 1885, farm organically and pick by hand.

The grapes ferment at moderate temperature to protect the variety's fruit and bright colour. The wine then rests in stainless steel and concrete vats and is bottled in April, with no oak at all, so it reaches the table fresh and fragrant.

This is Dolcetto as the Piedmontese drink it: soft, juicy and uncomplicated, a wine for everyday meals rather than the cellar.
