Tasting notes

Deep, brilliant colour. Aromas of red and black forest fruits, liquorice, mint and fresh minerality. The palate is concentrated and powerful yet fresh and refined, with elegant tannins and a long finish that shows great potential for further ageing.

About this wine

Domaine de Chevalier was classified among the Grands Crus Classés de Graves in 1953 and has belonged to the Bernard family since 1983. Its vines grow on gravel soils in Pessac-Léognan, just south of Bordeaux.

The 2010 vintage was harvested between 6 and 19 October from 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot and 5% Petit Verdot. The wine aged 16 to 20 months in barriques, 35% of them new, and was bottled in September 2012. It is a concentrated, powerful yet fresh and refined red with elegant tannins and great ageing potential.
