Tasting notes

Bright ruby colour. The nose is elegant, with raspberry and gentle spicy nuances. The palate is full-bodied and juicy, balancing freshness and acidity with a silky texture and firm tannins, and closes on a very long finish.

About this wine

Domaine Marquis d'Angerville built its reputation in the 1920s as one of the first Burgundy estates to bottle its own wine, at a time when négociants dominated the trade. Based in Volnay, it owns plots in some of the village's finest Premier Cru sites, including Taillepieds, Champans and the Clos des Ducs, of which it is sole owner.

The 2020 Bourgogne Rouge is made entirely from Pinot Noir. After destemming, the grapes macerate on the skins for eight to ten days with regular pumping over, and the wine is aged with about 25% new oak.

The estate follows organic and biodynamic principles, and this regional wine offers a true taste of its elegant house style.
