Tasting notes

Pale salmon pink. The nose offers wild strawberry, redcurrant and citrus peel with a stony, volcanic touch. The palate is dry, crisp and mineral, with lively acidity and a light body, closing on a clean, savoury and refreshing finish.

About this wine

Pietradolce is the Faro family estate in Solicchiata, near Castiglione di Sicilia, on the northern slope of Mount Etna. Its Etna Rosato comes from a single vineyard of Nerello Mascalese in Contrada Zottorinoto, at about 750 metres, where the vines are trained as bush vines on sandy volcanic soils.

The grapes are hand-picked in early October and pressed gently, and the wine spends a short time in stainless steel to preserve its purity.

It is a rosé built on minerality and easy drinkability, showing the elegant, fresh side of Etna's signature red grape.
