Tasting notes

Brilliant ruby red with garnet reflections. The nose shows maraschino cherry, plum, cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla and anise, with hints of coffee and chocolate. The palate is full and balanced, with soft, sweet tannins and long aromatic persistence.

About this wine

Taurasi is the most prestigious red wine of Campania, often called the "Barolo of the South", and Feudi di San Gregorio, founded in 1986 in Sorbo Serpico, is one of its leading interpreters in the heart of Irpinia.

Made from 100% Aglianico grown on the volcanic and clay soils of the appellation, the 2020 vintage was aged for about 18 months in medium-toasted French barriques, followed by at least nine months in bottle before release.

The result is a full, balanced red with ripe cherry, sweet spice and soft, polished tannins: a powerful yet elegant wine that will continue to evolve in the cellar for years.
