Tasting notes

Deep ruby colour. Ripe dark fruit with garrigue herbs, liquorice and spice on the nose. The palate is supple and generous, with rounded tannins and a warm, savoury finish.

About this wine

Gérard Bertrand is a Languedoc producer who showcases the terroirs of southern France through wines with a clear sense of origin. This red comes from the Corbières appellation, the largest by volume in Languedoc-Roussillon, in the south of the Aude department, in the heart of Cathar country.

The vines grow on the mid-altitude slopes of the Corbières mountains, on a mix of schist and limestone, in a harsh Mediterranean climate where only the hardiest varieties thrive. Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre make up the blend.
