Tasting notes

Deep, dense ruby with a violet rim. Ripe cherry, plum and blackberry lead the nose, joined by nutmeg, rhubarb, pepper and dark chocolate. The palate is full-bodied yet fresh, soft on entry, with balanced tannins and a long, warm finish.

About this wine

Harmonium is Firriato's flagship Nero d'Avola, made at the Borgo Guarini estate outside Trapani, in western Sicily. The wine draws on three massal selections planted in three separate parcels, Ferla, Lepre and Beccaccia, at around 300 metres.

Each parcel is picked and vinified on its own before the final blend is assembled, so that the differences between them are preserved rather than averaged out. The wine then ages twelve months in French and American oak barriques.
