Tasting notes

Ruby red with purple hints. The nose is dominated by abundant, elegant dark berries with sweet spice. On the palate a rustic, earthy hint appears mid-way, with acidity, tannin and alcohol in good balance and a satisfying, fruity finish.

About this wine

Ilico is a Montepulciano d'Abruzzo from Illuminati, the family estate in Controguerra whose story began in 1890 with Nicola Illuminati and Fattoria Nicò. Today the winery is one of the reference names in the Teramo hills of northern Abruzzo.

Made from Montepulciano, it is ruby red with purple hints and shows abundant, elegant dark berries, sweet spice and a rustic touch on the mid-palate. Acidity, tannin and alcohol are in good balance, giving a generous yet easy-drinking red.
