Tasting notes

Bright, light ruby. The nose shows cherry, raspberry, violet and a characteristic note of bitter almond. The palate is light-bodied and juicy, with soft tannins, fresh acidity and a clean, fruity finish.

About this wine

Peter Sölva & Söhne is one of the oldest family wineries in Kaltern (Caldaro), in South Tyrol, with winemaking roots going back to the 18th century. Peterleiten is the estate's classic Kalterersee, from vineyards on the sunny slopes around Lake Caldaro.

Made from 95% Schiava (Vernatsch) with 5% Lagrein, the 2020 is a light, fragrant red with soft tannins and lively freshness – the traditional everyday wine of the Alto Adige, served slightly cool.

Ideal with speck, charcuterie and simple mountain cooking.
